FiNally reaching a compromise:
Almost 230 years later, the Three Fifths Compromise is included in Article 1, Section 2, Clause 3 of the United States Constitution. According to the Three Fifths Compromise For Kids, the slave trade compromise is detailed in Article 5 which allowed the slave trade to continue until 1808. Also, the Three Fifths Compromise was made obsolete by the 13th Amendment which abolished slavery. Lastly, The Three Fifths Compromise is mentioned in Article 1, Section 9, Clause 4 that relates to taxes in proportion to numbers of people in a state. The Three Fifths Compromise was proposed at the Constitutional Convention in May 25, 1787 and it lasted to September 17, 1787. The Northern and Southern states compromised when they decided to have two houses of government, one being based of of population, and the other is equal representation for every state. They also decided to have slaves count of 3/5ths of a person.
